    Hugh Barnes

The above referenced Isaac Barnes was born in Wilkes Co., NC (later Alexander). Some have attributed his parents as Edward Barnes (son of Dead John and grandson of Brinsley and Frances Hereford. This is probably not the case. Other show that he was a son of Edward and an Unknown Tyrell who was a son of James “Handsome Jim”. In both of the above cases, he would have been a grandson of Brinsley. Other show a John Barnes and a Nancy Brown. Facts would be greatly appreciated. He was a charter member of Salem Lutheran Church in 1849 and married and Elizabeth (maiden name Barnes). He is found in the 1850 census but not 1860.
